You know that money that is yours, but never seems to come? Well, I'm talking about the FGTS.

It took me a while to understand how it worked, and even longer to withdraw it. But when I discovered the right way, without any fuss, without any scams, and with the help of benefits from the government itself… Then the game changed.

So relax. In this article, I'll show you How I withdrew my FGTS safely, without further ado, and how you can do it too.

It's a chat between friends. Like bar talk, only about money.

What is FGTS?

First of all, let's have a chat here. FGTS, for those who don't know exactly, is that little bit of money that your boss deposits every month into an account in your name, at Caixa.

But unlike your salary, this money doesn't come directly to you. It stays there, saved. And many people don't even remember it. Or worse: they think they'll never be able to withdraw it.

But hey, it is possible to withdraw money. And better yet: there are legal ways, with government support, that can help you put this money in your pocket.

I did it myself and I'll tell you how.

Why did I decide to withdraw my FGTS?

The truth is that there came a time when I needed it. Bills, unexpected events, that tight spot at the end of the month…
Then I thought: “Hey, could that forgotten FGTS over there not help me?”

I researched, I looked into it, I was careful with scams (because there are some, you know?), and I ended up finding a way real, safe and fast to withdraw.

And here comes the first key point: You can't just fall for any old talk. The right path exists. It just involves understanding the withdrawal methods that the government offers.

Ways to withdraw FGTS

You may have heard of anniversary withdrawal, termination withdrawal, calamity withdrawal…
But then, which one is right for you?

1. Anniversary withdrawal

This is for those who want a little money every year. It works like this: in the month of your birthday (or in the following two months), you can withdraw a part of your FGTS.

Simple. But there's a catch: if you're fired without cause, loses the right to withdraw the full amount from the account. You only receive the fine for 40%. So you have to think carefully.

2. Withdrawal-termination

This is the traditional one. Did you leave your job without just cause? You can withdraw everything you have in your FGTS from that company. Plus the fine.

There is no mistake here. It is your right, guaranteed by law.

3. Withdrawal due to public calamity

Was there a flood, landslide or other natural disaster where you live? The government will release the funds to those who prove they were affected.

Not everyone can use it, of course. But if that's your case, It's worth running after, because money helps – a lot.

4. Other permitted withdrawals

There are more situations in which FGTS can be released, such as:

  • Buying your own home
  • Serious illness (such as cancer or HIV)
  • Retirement
  • Death (heirs can withdraw)

In other words, there are many possibilities. But you need to understand what yours are, otherwise you will just dream about money and never see the color of it.

Withdraw FGTS safely

Here's the part that a lot of people ask me about.

“But how did you withdraw it? Was it through Caixa? Did you use an app? Did you fall for a scam?”

The answer is simple: I used the official FGTS app, from Caixa Econômica.
Yes, that little blue one you find in your cell phone’s app store.

And the process was like this:

  1. I downloaded the app and logged in with my CPF.
  2. I checked my FGTS balance and saw the withdrawal options available.
  3. I chose the “Withdrawal-Anniversary” option.
  4. I signed up directly through the app.
  5. Then, I indicated the account where I wanted the money to be sent.
  6. In a few days, It fell right into the account.

Oh, and here's a warning: NEVER pass your data to third parties that promise to advance your FGTS, release hidden amounts, or anything miraculous. The scam is there, and it is precisely those who need it who end up falling for it.

Government benefits that help (a lot)

One thing that few people know is that the government itself has programs that make it easier to withdraw FGTS, especially for those in a vulnerable situation.

I will mention just a few here:

  • Calamity Aid: in cities that have declared a state of emergency.
  • Public housing programs: use the FGTS as a down payment on property.
  • Digital Withdrawal: completely via cell phone, without leaving home.

These are real, safe alternatives created precisely to help you use what is yours.

So don’t believe in TikTok’s promises or “secret techniques” that no one has ever heard of.
